Brian Poole + Electrix
|
In his career with the Tremeloes, which lasted 14 years, Brian Poole completed 3 world tours – and many national tours working in stage, recording studio, and films with many of the famous stars of these professions.
Starting his career as a studio backing vocalist he imparts many amusing and even controversial stories about the 60’s era and it’s stars.
With many sports personalities as his friends, Brian was a member of the infamous Entertainers Xl football team, which toured GB for many years creating much laughter and even some good football everywhere they went. Playing with a mixture of current football stars of showbiz, this was a source of many anecdotes.
He was born in 1941, in East London and is a true cockney, with a family who were in the hard working world of the famous London markets. This fact led him to write a book with the title ‘TALK BACK’ – which is a complete guide to British Colloquialism or slang.
In the Tremeloes years Brian notched up 11 top ten hits. The biggest being Do You Love Me (no 1).
His first major tour was with the then unknown Beatles and during his years with Decca Records he was one of the top British acts for many years. He amusingly recounts many great times and some not so great but still interesting times.
One of the highlights of Brian’s later career came in the early 90’s when he was commanded to appear in the Royal Gala Show at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London representing the 60’s music scene. Married for over 30 years, his daughters are the famous singer/songwriters Alisha’s Attic who bring him up to date on the music scene as often as possible.
As a man with many varied interests and friends he definitely has a story to tell. If not in his writing, then first hand, in his own words, at your leisure.
